Variety of places but mostly Pinball Life.
Making up the bullseye targets.
Three need to be rear mount and one needs to be front mount.

For the three rear mounts I am using some used ones I have changed along the way because the faces were scratched or rivets corroded. 4964B557-27ED-4A83-A03A-5FACFD17E0F4 (resized).jpeg

Running the GI wiring in insulated color correct wire.
image (resized).jpg
It will take a few feet of wire and I will thread one continuous strand of each color neatly through the existing harness

It needs to do what was originally done here

I have already replaced it in the upper section.

The orange skirts are great with the clear bodies. Just ordered some of those to try out.
Backside looks fantastic. Especially the wiring job -- undeniably cleaner look than factory.
Now, there's sooo much red in the game, I am generally adding in blue to 80's pins. I'll think out loud a minute.
I'm wondering if blue rollover guides would work, or if that would force blue star posts, and then how far that would have to go. I'm torn though, because the rules dictate: banana insert red = completing F-I-R-E rollovers, and I don't like going against the insert UI (rats) at all... =(
Perhaps the right side "power" could get blue bullseye standups and/or blue star posts? -- but that's a very minor accent (only 2 star posts are line of sight) compared to cradling the pops with some blue behind them... (which I think I just talked myself out of due to the rules...) I like contrasts, so I'd consider red against blue or blue against red on the right. Obviously, keeping the red targets, is easiest -- so I'm wondering how right side would look framed in blue. (And then does that force a left side as well for balance, or go red/blue like cyclone or pinbot)
Decisions! I might have to go try out some color changes on my Firepower now... perhaps ALL blue star posts *except* the rollovers, to turn up the heat on the red on the playfield via contrast...
I appreciate how you rethink colors on the games, it inspires some of us to try that process too...

Damn, I want clear bumpers and color-matched skirts on every game now. Looks amazing, and so well lit.
I once uncrated one of these for my business when new. And you did a whole lot better than when it was made.
LTG : )
The extra detail you painted around the targets *really* helps the look...
Black rails look great.
Flipper bat choice to match the flipper frame plastics works.

Questions on thought process:
1. How do you choose between custom forming a lexan piece below a middle plastic or going with corner round pieces?
2. Is protection still needed on the older games (like firepower) where the flippers just aren't as strong?
3. How do you choose between colored plastic nuts and other options?
thanks,
mof
Got the glass from the shop.
It looks new so I am guessing it is one of the Mayfair repros.
I know there is something to look for about it but it is the glass that came with the game and I don’t have an original.
Would it be worth directing the owner to the lastest PPS version?
It's definitely not original, but looks OK lit up. By the colors leading up to the title, it's not the "2nd run" Williams glass, either. It's been too long for me to remember if that's Mayfair or...there was another older repro years ago, man my memory is bad on it but maybe even Alan Meyer did one? That very light orange/yellow in that area is WAY off when it's not lit but it looks like it tames down a lot once it's lit.

Thanks for sharing your project here! The attention to detail is amazing! I'm a customer of HEP and I can attest to the absolute stunning quality of his work.
Always think he can't do better than bam, another breathtaking example of perfection. Bravo and thanks for sharing!
Thanks for all the pics and sharing the process. Absolutely stunning! Love the cab colors and the flawless shine of the playfield. Wish I could play it. How do those clear pop bodies light up? I would think not very well since bulbs mostly shine up but just curious.
Quoted from High_End_Pins:Doing black wafers and clear bodies for the jet bumpers.
I think the black wafer looks good and is lower maintenance than white.
My hope is the clear bodies will add a little light because I find when games have both opaque bodies and caps it can be less obvious or rewarding visually when they are lit.
They make clear wafers no too, that would look great with the clear bodies.
Chris' resto posts are by far the best threads here on Pinside, nothing else comes close to reading and following. Amazing work, thanks again for sharing.
The only problem is that I would be afraid to play it! As Todd Tuckey likes to say, this is the nicest Firepower on planet Earth! Blown away, as usual. You should start a pinball restoration academy or something. Professor HEP take my money!
