Attack From Mars in the basement is a beautiful thing. Love everything about it. Never thought I'd own a HEP machine but thanks to spandol, now I do.

Is the shaker a must have? Do I alter a fully restored game? Love to get some opinions.

Pam at PinBits told me it is one of her biggest sellers. I say go for it. Pinbits has made it interact more than the original kit from a few years back.

I also have a HEP AFM, and Chris suggested I put one in when he started restoring it.
That was good enough for me, and I do think it adds a lot to the game.

That was a good deal - Sub $10K recent HEP restorations don't come around often. Here's my guide on whether or not to get a shaker:

HEP AFM - Yes
Bryan Kelly AFM - No
McCune AFM - Yes
Chad Keller AFM - No
Treasure Cove AFM - Depends on the weather

The Bill Ung saucers and hallway mod, sound upgrade and the Pinbits shaker are must haves.
Glowing Martian eyeballs and lighted scoops are optional.
