(I am stealing the term nipples from legendary Todd Tuckey.)

Okay so there is a special tool for these guys, Right? Well... I do not have the tool, I am not going to buy the tool. I do not even know what the tool is called. All I know is these things piss me off.

However, I found a very simple solution, called a BIC pen. Perfect size. For $2 you can buy a dozen at Office Depot or Staples and kept this "nipple" release tool in every machine.

While you're doing your back to school shopping stock up on these "tools".
I keep one in every In ever classic Bally / Stern back box

I use my 8-1 hobby screwdriver after I noticed the bit holder resembled the BIC pen

the "nipple" is called a "standoff spacer" should you need to replace a mangled one for all those time you couldn't find a pen in the house http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=2207

The correct term, as coined by Bally's Engineering department is "Brass Pixie-Stix". Although Gottlieb put a black plastic tube in their System 1 machines.
