Just received my new Ayoue 9378 soldering station in the mail. The instruction manual describes calibrating tip so tip temp. equals the station temp. It says to use external temperature reader with thermocoupler as its sensor. What can be used as the external reader with thermocoupler? Thanks

I can't speak for the Ayoue specifically but any quality soldering station should come calibrated, and should not need calibration out of the box. I would presume the Ayoue is the same.

Start at 600 and see if it melts solder. From there work your way hotter until comfortable.

I have to assume like Terry, you shouldnt need to calibrate out of box.

My Ayoue reads in Centigrade. I do the majority of my soldering in the 300-420 range.
