Can you form a rectangle on the switch matrix between the single drop target which is closed, switch 5, and any other switches that may be closed? Perhaps the outhole and top drop target in the bank of 3? Check the diodes on those as well if so.

Switch test can only report out one switch at a time. So if 5 is closed, no others above 5 will come up during test mode, even if they are closed, until you can open 5.
The top drop target on the upper playfield is the other one I meant, not switch 3.
It might be good to play around with it in actual game mode to see what’s going on.
I’m not sure what would cause that drop target not to pop back up if the coil is functioning. I’ll be interested to hear if anything else is going on when you have a chance to explore more.
