This looks like the "10 step alternator unit" blow-up in the parts manual , not sure how clear it is how the spring is installed

Williams alternator match unit (resized).jpgAh, I think I can figure it out from that picture. I see how the spring is placed. Thanks very much.

To any Liberty Bell owner, my problem where the spinner lights did not cycle up when the ball goes thru the spinner, after cleaning the spinner unit with scotch guard, and alcohol, the lights still did not cycle. However, I noticed that if I put my fingernail on the spring and stretch it one way and the other way, the lights would work. Thinking that it was the springs, I purchased a new spring. It still didn't work. Then, after scratching my head, I noticed that the the plate on the spinner unit was somewhat sticky. After cleaning it and spending a lot, and I mean a lot, of time trying to put it back together, it now works perfectly. I've always read from experts to clean these things but it didn't seem to be the problem but it was. Hopefully this will help someone else.
