I have a badly burnt connector at 3P3/3J3 to the power board on my Sorcerer. The one lead had been cut and then soldered directly to the board. I want to replace both connectors. I need some help identifying what connectors to purchase and where to get them. What's the trick to removing the pins from the existing connector (or do I just snip the wires at the connector)? Will I need a couple pins and a crimping tool also? I took one picture of the power board and attached it to this post. Thanks.

Just cut them off of the existing connector.

You will need a crimper.

You will need pins to go inside the housing.

You can buy everything you need here:

The header on the board looks a little krispy, too.

I think you're on the right track, though, replace both halves of the connector and the pins.

The PCB header is 15-31-1026
The male connector on the wiring is 19-09-1026
The pins are 02-09-1104

All can be purchased from Great Plains Electronics at http://www.greatplainselectronics.com

All the parts will run about 2 bucks

I had never done this until two weeks ago, you can totally do it, not as hard as you think.

In addition to what Johnwartjr (who was a huge help with my last repair) said to get you will also need a soldering tool, and desoldering tool.

I ordered the parts and a crimp tool. Is $25+ the going rate for a crimp tool for these types of connectors? I already have the soldering equipment. Thanks for helping me figure out which connectors to buy.

sounds about right. I got the cheap one from great plains, worked fine.
