Chicago Coin flipper catalog page (resized).jpg

I have an old Pirate gold I’m trying to get running again. This machine has a flipper coil, as well as a second coil called the flipper resistance coil. I want to just put in a new 3 lug coil that has a main and hold winding.
Any ideas as to what coil I should use?
I’ve got a FL 20-300 / 33-1500
And a SFL 20-300 / 30-800
Can I use these? I realize I need to order at least one more to match them up, but which is the better choice to get?
Or something altogether different? The old coils were toast, I can read ref no. R-4893 and stock no. 03-3035 I wasn’t able to find a cross ref for that though

You sure the old coil doesn’t say A-4893?

If so There’s more than one for sale on eBay.

Scratch my idea. I see Your machine is not a Gottlieb.

The only coil I know that's "4893"is a Gottlieb, and it's NOT a flipper coil. Although I'm not familiar with Chi Coin EMs, if the schematics are similar to those of WMS/Bally/GTB, the correct coil number should be listed somewhere on the flipper coil circuit portion of the schematic. Perhaps someone can chime in who owns that game.

The '69 Chicago Coin Parts catalog shows this flipper assembly. Does it look like yours?

The back of the catalog also has a coil list but I don't see the numbers you mentioned.

Thanks MarkG that’s the assembly for sure. Maybe what was there wasn’t original. But that’s a great reference for what coils I need.

operators tended to replace coils with what was on hand. so always replace with what the schematic or manual says not with what is in there.
