It's a basic step but have you tried reseating the connectors? Any difference in boot up when doing so?
I've got a similar problem on my Hulk, but displays light up and cycles through high score. Each time I reseat the connectors, something different happens (no displays, tilt stuck, etc). I'm thinking I'm going to repin them and if that doesn't work, upgrade to a Pascal/Flippp board.
