Use a digital camera (or cell phone camera) to see if the infrared transmitter is even lighting up.

If that does not light, then you need to change the transitter opto.
If it dies light, then we need to test the receiver opto.

Repeat the action at the 3:03 mark in this video. Do you hear an audible beep if you run your hand up the middle of the PF as I did in this video? If not, it is a very real possibility that your transmitter and receiver are not aligned properly. I discuss in this video what I did exactly to rectify the issue.
