Quoted from ekthoren:

Gottlieb System 3 pin.
When in attract mode I can hear static/scratching noise that is not a constant hum but changes constantly and is medium in volume. It almost sounds like some taking a live mic with amplifier and rubbing their fingers on the microphone. Anyone know where to start to figure out this issue? When I start the game the issue is completely gone and it sounds great. This only occurs when turned on in attract mode.

Check your F11 fuse holder. Likely replace it. Then check F12 fuse holder. That fixed my hum. Otherwise it is likely the Aux Power Supply. VR1 and VR2 can be replaced and may fix it if you wanted to shotgun it.
