ok the board is clean and tested in 2 different games so i know its the board causing the problem

changed all sockets and swapped over all socked chips to a known working board and visa versa

when the game boots up it stays on the single display " 0 "
weather there is a ball in it or not
when i was playing with the ram i didn't have it seated all the way and it booted
tried a different ram and still the same " 0 " in the display
but with it pulled up in the front pins out it boots up all the way

also i get the 7 flashes just no further

Does the game go into attract mode? Controlled lamps flashing/animating? Do you hear the chirp from the sound board?

#3 3 years ago

No it does the boot and then kicks a couple solenoids and that’s it

If I recall, Elektra requires the two balls to be in the trough to complete the startup process. Try "faking it" by closing them manually.

Well I put it in a skateball and it does the same thing

Quoted from arcademan1:

Well I put it in a skateball and it does the same thing

Did you also exchange the game eproms?
Are they both the same type of eproms (2732)?
If you left the Elektra eproms on the board when testing in Skateball, it is still the Elektra programming and expecting two balls on sertain switches.

Did you clear audits on the MPU? Maybe RAM has crap values stuck?
