Before you do a swap, check for the proper voltages and cracked solder joins (especially on header pins).
Also double check to make sure that the speakers are connected.

Quoted from crashnt20:Which board should check first. The CPU board or the Audio Visual board
Check the voltages on the AV board first. It wouldn't hurt to check the voltages on the MPU either, but considering that the game works aside from the sound, the MPU voltages are fine.
Quoted from pincredible:is the volume up?
Are the speakers connected.
Are the ribbon cables installed?
Does the cpu boot?
Is there power to the board?
You can swap boards without swapping chips, the game will sound like MB and have weird callouts.
Can u upload a photo of your AV board with the machine booted on?
Check all these things before considering swapping boards. For added emphasis: If there is a problem in your AFM that damaged the sound board, there's a chance it could also damage the MB's sound board. So, it's best to verify that everything else is correct before even considering a swap.
Go ahead and post good, clear photos--someone here might catch something that isn't immediately obvious.
