Quoted from ekthoren:I held the glass up to a plasma ball that I'd seen people do on you tube and it lights up similar to those videos.
That's a good sign. That means it should be capable of lighting up.
Quoted from ekthoren:Do I need to do something else to get this to work properly?
You might not be getting good contact. Maybe the legs are tarnished. I'm not sure about a good way to clean those legs since they're so thin and fragile, though.
If you have enough alligator clip jumper wires, you could try that.
Or, just proceed with soldering them in.
Quoted from ekthoren:Like install the glass and let it run for an hour?
That shouldn't be necessary.
Quoted from ekthoren:I even turned up the voltage to about 220 volts and nothing.
That shouldn't be necessary either. I would avoid doing that since it could cause problems with your existing displays.
