Did you remove the aftermarket jumpers? Generally it is not a good idea to just go and remove jumpers even if they are "hacky" without correcting the problem correctly or of course you're going to very likely have a problem on your hands - especially if the machine worked with them. (meaning they weren't installed incorrectly thus doing nothing) If you left them in place then disregard most of my comment other than just making sure they are good to go and still soldered correctly.
