Hello dear Pinsiders,

I've got an issue with my Sega Starship Troopers.

The yellow Flashers (4x) are lit solid. I had an issue a while ago, where they wouldn't even flash (no light). A professional looked at the responding transistor (as some of the pinside community suggested). He tested it and told me it was fine.

Earlier this day I played a game on my Starship Troopers, and I noticed, that the flashers were working. I was so happy! It looked a bit flaky though. After the game I tested them in the menu to make sure, that they were working properly and as soon as I did that they were lit solid even as I switched the game back on. So I immediately turned the game off to prevent (further) damage to any board.

I checked the cables and I couldn't find any obvious error. I want to add that the game has rarely been repaired or changed as it stood in the backroom of a pub for about 15 years. From down the playfield it almost looks like it has just left the factory.

I read a bit on Pinside and I found out, that this could mean that a transistor is broken. Do you think that this is the case?

Any participation is greatly appreciated!
