Working on a gottlieb Monte Carlo. The switches ending in 0,1, and 3 all show closed in test mode. 65 does as well. When you start a game 65 is the trough coil and constantly fires. What ties these vertical rows together? Want to understand this better and appreciate the help.

Thank you for replying Chris. So I found two ic chips were bad z11 & z13. So all switches are working now except 65 which confuses me which diode it is. Schematic says 14 but there are only 13 on there. I also found the one on the end of the board was blown. Wondering if I blew the chip again due to diode being bad

Here is the pic of the switch. Contacts are open. Even if you pull it away more, it still registers.

I’m good with using them. Anything to help others!

Btw. Game plays now. Need to adjust a switch probably due to not registering but super happy I can finally play it!

ok so have some more issues I am finding. I have a flasher and the coil for the left ramp are not working. So Lamp13 is the ramp and lamp 14 is the flasher. I just replaced the coil due to it being fried. must have been fried since I have had this. but anyways. pulled the driver board and tested Q14, Q15 transistors, also tested out Z4 ic. all test out good. what could I be missing? Really appreciate you guys helping.

Not q1 & q5 test good. Could these be tied to one of these little boards underneath the playfield?

for the Z4 I was in diode test. put the pos lead on the ground and made sure I was getting reading on the other legs. verified vs other like ic's. the flasher next to the slingshots do work. this is the only flasher that does not. the switch for the ramp is open when up and closed when down. so the coil should be activated most of the game play. you have to hit some shots to get it to lower which would close the switch. have not grounded the transistors. not sure which leg to ground and how I could with them being so low on the board. not able to get it at the back when connectors are on.

well
I am officially in the dummy club. I didn't check the fuse and what do you know, it works. the ramp works but the flasher doesn't yet. probably going to look at the socket itself. I have a feeling that is the problem. previous owner had wrong fuses in too. had a 1amp in a 2.5amp spot which obviously fried it and probably the coil too.
