Stern Pinball almost gave Senior Founder/Director Daniel Spolar a heart attack!
"I had a huge scare today during our Pinball Machine Dedication!
We just completed the set-up and we were introducing the Munsters Pinball Machine to the patients and their families, plus hospital staff was on hand to watch as well. A full room of people.
We just finished a couple of games when the next the super excited patient started a game to give the machine a try. He was playing his second ball when the flippers stopped working. And then the monitor when black. And then ALL of the insert lights came on at the same time! The boy playing jumped back thinking he broke the Munsters pinball machine!
My heart rate jump through the roof, 80 to 178 in .05 Seconds.
I witness the whole thing but still caught me off guard. I was hoping....actually praying the machine didn't malfunction at that very moment of the dedication. I was getting ready for damage control mode.
Then the monitor came back to life with the words displayed MIDNIGHT MADNESS! Then shot all 6 balls back to the playfield to start a multi-ball frenzy. Everyone in the room was truly amazed and cheering the boy on in support!
Thank you for almost giving me a heart attack! But if I was going to have a heart attack, I guess being in a hospital would help my chances for recovery.
I am thinking that I should switch the internal clock back to the correct time.
Still... Dirty Pool! John Borg, George Gomez, Steve Ritchie, and Stern Pinball Crew."
