Hi
I have been trying to help a friend get his Sega Batman Forever pin working ... I don't know all the history, but the game had quite a few issues ... the only remaining issue is that I need a Sega Display Large 192 x 64 DMD Controller (520-5092-01) board. Now that everything else in the Batman Forever is fixed, I was able to get the large DMD working by swapping in the Large Display Controller from my Baywatch game.
Attached are pics of the board I need (game ROMs were not in when I took the pics) ... the first pic shows the bad Board out of Batman ... a previous owner must have socketed almost every IC on the board ... I'm guessing they never figured out the problem! And I think they may have added a critical problem by removing a ferrite when they added sockets. The second pic shows the good board out of Baywatch ... curiously it has what seems to be a piece of ferrite under the U15 PAL (see the red circled area) ... I gotta think that this ferrite was absolutely critical or else it never would have been there ... maybe it reduces ringing on fast pulse edges? If anyone knows the REAL reason I'd like to know. Anyone know where I can get a piece like this so that I can remove the socket from the Batman board and try to re-install the PAL with the ferrite?
These boards can be found in Batman Forever, Baywatch, Maverick, Frankenstein and Cut the Cheese.
Anyone have one of these boards that you can sell me ??? please and thank you !!! Kevin
