I’m fixing a flying chariots with a tricky problem. Pressing the start button the game turn on, score reels go to zero, the ball is release. But then: then 10 points scores in player 2 (because O relay is not activated)(O relay is for 1st player), then, when the you lose the ball, ball played unit doesn’t advance. You are always in ball one.
I checked the resistors, the the contacts in the played unit, and the contacts in QB and SB (game over and start relay).
Now, I’m not sure what else could be the problem.
Thanks

Have you verified that the Balls Played unit is moving at all? To begin with, if you manually step it ahead to the 9th position, does it fly all the way back when the game resets? If you manually step it, does it feel as smooth as any other stepper unit?

Yes, the ball played unit is running good. Clean. I checked the fingers, they are working properly. If I moved to the nine position and I start the game, it reset to position zero. I also checked the cables and resistors behind the unit, they are good.

Mayfair has an identical setup with the O and P relays and I had a similar problem, where it would score some points on P1, then jump to P2. I believe I tracked it down to something -almost certain that it was the BCU-being loose. Sorry for lack of detail, but it was quite a while ago. But in short, I would keep an eye out for a mechanical problem as well.

I checked SB, QB and the stepper. Maybe the jones plugs.. I will see.
The braided cables in the Ball Counter unit look weird. But I can't find a photo to see if mine are properly set. I need to see which leg connects with which.

I think you should focus on the BPU because it's the only that powers O and P that isn't common to both, ie-different balls. Did you check the coil on O, and also for cold solders, etc?

Solved. What was the problem: In the ball played unit, the cables that conects the fingers of the stepper.. they looked weird. And somebody in the past, just put them in a wrong way, connecting fingers that shouldt be connected.
