Started out ball in play would phantom drain as you were playing and now 2 balls get fed into shooter lane every ball

Went for a quick fix and put new trough/opto boards in but this didnt solve the issue

Looking for something else to try, no errors in diagnostics either
Thanks in advance!

I would have thought trough Optus also. How about the Shooter lane switch?

Correct # of balls in machine?

Thanks for replying..

Yes my immediate next thought was shooter lane switch but that was registering fine. Tested with ball not just my finger.

I have 4 balls installed

In switch test does it show the optos for trough working correctly?

#7 4 years ago

In test Check all switch's on the same column/row as the trough optos and maybe all other switch's on the playfield too.

Will do that. Thankyou

Quoted from Brtlkat:

Ok so I figured out the switch giving me trouble is Trough #4
Makes sense but I didnt catch it before
Thought new board was the answer but switch not registering with either board so its gotta be the wire on the connector
Tried re seating the connection but same..
So replace the connector? Need help with a part number or advise me how to re do the wire using existing connector? Looks like i will need some kind of special tool to make the metal part bite into the wire. I know I have done this type of connector repair before but its been so long I have forgotten what i need. Thanks

Those connectors don’t need a crimping tool, there’s no pins either.

You need a punch down tool (or a slot head screwdriver). The wire pinches into a metal “V” inside the connector. You might be able to pull out the affected wire and wedge it back into the connector

Fixed! As suggested I just started testing switches and noticed the center shot/target wasnt registering so underneath I noticed a wire had popped off the switch. Soldered it back it place and it was daisey chained to ball trough 4 opto somehow. Game works great now
