Anyone able to tell me why my Monopoly pin is shooting balls non-stop? It fires one ball after another from the trough and shooting lane. I have looked at wires, opto, and other things in that area. Can an opto get out of line and cause this? Anything else I need to check on?

Thanks,
Mike

Have you done a switch test yet on the optos?

Reflow the solder joints on the trough opto boards.

You won't believe this! I guess I'm totally ignorant of how the game plays. I discovered a mode in the Portals that is called "Chase Ball" . . .you either pick 'yes' or 'no'. APPARENTLY, it is THIS that is causing all the free balls! When I turned it to 'no', the pin stopped firing them.

Either this feature makes it SO easy to keep getting extra balls, or it is defective in this mode. There are just WAY too many balls being propelled out of there. I guess this will be permanently turned off . . . I couldn't stand it!

Thanks for you attempt at helping me.

Thats odd. Were you missing a ball somewhere? I found this on another site :

"The Chase Ball feature will attempt to keep a game operational in the
event that a ball becomes stuck on the playfield. After a number of
unsuccessful ball searches, the game software will end the player's
current ball, give a bonus award and, then serve a new ball (or end the
game if that was the last ball in the player's game). The ball 'chases'
the stuck ball on the playfield and will hopefully knock it loose."

Are you running v2.20 or later? I noticed this in the list of bug fixes for that version:

"Chance bug fixed that correctly returns balls back into play." Has anyone else seen such crazy behavior? Mike I would suggest getting this on video so we can better understand what's going on. Do you have a camera?
