It may be a grounded switch matrix line. To determine this, start a game, then unplug the switch lines from the MPU. If the problem goes away, then it's external to the MPU. If the problem remains, then it's likely in the MPU. J2 is the playfield switches, J3 is the cabinet switches. That should at least get you started. In my experience, the most common area for this problem is the coin door.
