WMS IJ recently started pulsing the subway lockup coil. Pulses it about every 8 seconds like clock work. Does this in game over mode as well. Verified all switches mechanical and optical are working. Replaced subway opto transmitter and receiver. Game passes self test with no errors reported. Have gone through and tested all switches indvidually. Connectors are all where they are supposed to be and everything else in the game works. Stumped on this one. Help appreciated.
Thank You

If it is the coil that pops the ball up to the idol lock the optos probably aren't staying closed.Make sure the popper isnt in the way of the optos.Try shimming the optos higher than the popper 1/16" with washes or small nuts.

It is the coil that blocks balls from rolling through the subway. Mounted horizontally. When coil pulls in balls can roll by.

Have you checked the wires / connectors etc. all the way along the circuit . Check that no bare wires , connectors , diodes etc. are touching anything they shouldn't be . Could possibly be a ground / earth fault .

Also a nearby light may be opening the opto.Try completely masking the optos with electrical tape.

I recently had the same problem. The opto emitter was bad. Pull the subway and check the opto.

edit - wow its said you already did that. Sorry.

I checked all the wiring along the circuit.
Moved the right flipper magnetic type proximity switch so the magnet is farther away from the auto shooter coil. Problem went away. I have no idea why this worked or would cause the subway lockup coil to pulse. Auto shooter coil does not have a diode. Should it or could it?
