Was installing the mezel mod flashing speaker mod...connected as directed...and the right flasher wasn't working for some reason...then the F10 fuse blew & the Sparky coil started smoking. Turned off, disconnected the speaker mod, replaced the F10 fuse & now the right rear flashers are always on...everything else seems to be fine except for that.

Any suggestions what happened here & how to fix?

Thanks in advance!!!

Has to be a blown transistor .
Check manual for flasher transistor and then test it .

Had a feeling that might be it...how do I test the transistor to see whether it's bad or not?

Also, can I play it still or will it cause further damage unless I get it fixed first?

You need a multimeter, look up how to check a transistor on pinside .
But if you can see in the manual what transistor it is,it might be running more then just that Flasher.
You shouldn't have the pin on until you find out more about the transistor .

OK...so the right back panel flasher is on transistor Q22 which appears to be the only thing riding on that transistor.

So ran both continuity & resistance test across the ground strap & all transistors & both Q21 (left panel flasher) and Q22 (right panel flasher) came up shorted...what's weird is that the left back panel flasher is still working fine in diagnostic testing? Any ideas why that would be the case?

So looks like I need to replace the Q22 TIP122 transistor & hopefully problem resolved.

I assume since only this bank of flashers is riding on that transistor I should still be good to power on & play until I replace it correct?

Thanks for your help!

Take the Flashers out of the Sockets if your going to play .
They get pretty hot and can melt the plastics around them .

Good luck

Was planning to remove the bulbs...but was reading some other threads where flashers were always on as a result of a bad transistor & others had mentioned that playing w/ the bad transistor could burn up the board...if that's possible I'll just leave it sit until I replace the transistor...thoughts?
