Quoted from PantherCityPins:I did get the shooter rod better with a shim. Now I’m working on various tweaks and trying to get a list together of things for the pinball whisperer guy I have coming out on Friday to do the final go over and repairs. It is throwing out some switch checks and there are some switches that aren’t registering like the 100k skill shot hole. Hopefully all that can be sorted with some switch leaf adjustments.
As far as budget I think I did ok, I bought the machine for $1200. I have spent right at $500 on parts and supplies including an entire fuse kit, kit of various replacement rubbers, new plastics, LEDs, and new sound ROMs. So I’m right at $1700 in the machine and I think I could sell it for $1800-1900 so I’m ok with that. I did splurge on the plastics and LEDs, if I went with the old plastics and incandescents I could have been up and playing for around $1500. I’m happy with it and I have learned a ton so I feel like it has been a good exercise for me!
Well done and very smart to attempt to stay within a budget. It’s easy to rack up the spending on these games and pretty impressive that you realize that early on. It took me about 10 games before I was better at that.
