Help me repair Data East Pivot Bracket (JP)
OK, one of the Pivot Brackets on my Data East JP was re-mounted by using the wrong size bolts by a previous "tech" and now the threaded mount holes are FUBARed.

What is the best way to repair this correctly? I'm not even sure you to get to the mounting hardware embedded in the underside of the playfield.

This really bugs me and I want to fix it.

Also what are the correct size bolts to use?

Thanks,

I'm having trouble picturing what a pivot bracket is. What is it?

It sounds like you just need to change out a tee nut?

Sounds like that too me.

If it's just a tnut like the others are saying, remove the post, and gently pry the old tnut out using a tiny screwdriver. Tnuts have little teeth on them to bite into the playfield. Line your new tnut up with the holes left by the old tnut and gently tap it in. It doesn't have to go all the way so don't go crazy on it. To get it the rest of the way in the playfield, simply screw the post in and tighten it. The screwing/tightening will pull the tnut up and it will bite into the playfield. Just be sure not to over tighten it!

Btrip:

The DE Pivot Bracket is this:

Bracket, Pivot
#500-5329-00
Bracket, Pivot
Weight: 0.1 lb

They allow you to pivot the DE playfields straight up to work on them (kind of like sys11) and the also slide along the support rails so you can move the playfield forward and back.

They are very often loose or missing on DE games.

I'm hoping it's just a T-nut, but I am having difficulty seeing it from the top side of the playfield.

I am hoping it isn't under the side rail.

Has anyone every actually done this repair on a DE game?

That's what I'm looking for.

If it's underneath the wooden side rail, just loosen the screws. Should give you enough space to tap the old t-nut out, and pull a new one in.

I have just a JP and Taxi currently. My JP in no way stands straight up as easily as my Taxi does... maybe I'm missing something in my JP. To stand the playfield straight up the back of the playfield essentially sits on the side rails.

OK, looks like it's under the side rail.

Hope I don't eff it up.
