Are you sure its the Ball count unit clicking or is it perhaps the Score Motor?
Do all the Reels Reset to 0?
Is the circuit Board on the Ball Unit clean and making good connection?

69stang : Try cleaning up the ball unit. i use a fine sandpaper till the metal shines.
Some apply a thin coat of teflon lube that you can get from Radio Shack.
Make sure the legs are actually touching the board after cleaning. I had a unit that was not touching by maybe a millimeter. Drove me nuts trying to find that one.
