Perhaps it would be worth it to try? Start with one machine (which sounds like your plan anyways), do your due diligence (insurance, legal costs, assess location, etc..), and see how it goes. You probably won't make much money on a single machine, but it's a nice way to get a feeling of the pros and cons for yourself.
If you don't enjoy it, or it starts costing you more than you make from it, take the machine back- but at least you know because you've tried it.
