Looking to get my next pin, the 2 available to me are either CFTBL or FT

Current collection is: T2, Demo Man & The Shadow

Bit of an action fest at the moment so looking for something different.

Both CFTBL and FT can be had for good prices but the FT needs a bit of work and is missing the topper.

Thanks for you input!

If the CFTBL is nice, get it.

You usually can always find a FT, but you can't always find a nice CFTBL.

LTG : )

Yeah thats the way im leaning at present...cftbl probably more sought after in the future also

#4 11 years ago

I have had both, CFTBL is what I would go with.

#5 11 years ago

neither, god awful titles. i'd pick up something on your wishlist

#6 11 years ago

Creature would be my pick.

#7 11 years ago

wish i kept my fish tales....

#8 11 years ago

I would go with CFTBL....especially if the FT topper is missing. However if the hologram is shot, then I would avoid it and go with FT.

#9 11 years ago

Would go with CFTBL. Even if the holo is shot there are some threads going around now with some great LCD replacements.

CFTBL is on my wishlist. I will drop everything and buy one if one every becomes available in Michigan..

So, CFTBL it is.

Thanks, although unfortunately over here in NZ machines are scarce and if you want a decent collection you need to pick up what you can!

I hope to have others off my wish list over time...

Creech. Miss mine.

#14 11 years ago

I'd 100% go with Creature.

(I can't seem to get into Fish Tales in any way.)

#15 11 years ago

Creature in the lead!

#16 11 years ago

FT comeback kid

#17 11 years ago

Creature by a mile....and I love FT.

#19 11 years ago

I say you "MOVE YOUR CAR" and pick up the CFTBL.

#20 11 years ago

Creature wins!

Thanks for all your feedback

sweet, I'm 6 for 6 on the popular vote I'd take either of them, but the creature from the black lagoon is such a sweet theme.

#23 11 years ago

With that lineup I would go with CFTBL, however I owned it and it was out within 6 months. It's more about the 50s rather than the Creature. If you're buying it because its a monster-themed game you might be disappointed.

Let us know what you decide!

#24 11 years ago

Creature is a better game hands down. I've owned mine for 14 years.

#25 11 years ago

Sorry Wizzo (in advance)...

CFTBL is the most awful machine there is **IMO**. FT is fun, it's not super, but good. Both come from the great "player" era of the WPCs, but my god, no game has left my collection faster than CFTBL....

My advice is that CFTBL is better left unplayed if you do buy it. It looks great, and turned on looks fantastic, but disconnect the start button, otherwise it all comes crashing down fast.

cftbl, its on my wishlist

#27 11 years ago

creature by a mile

#28 11 years ago

You already have a kitschy period piece in Shadow. Adding another one with Creature will be too much and detract your appreciation of both games. Get FT now. Creatures are a dime a dozen, and Their prices have been falling slowly but steadily for years.

I say FT. CFTBL is a cool looking game, but I just couldn't really get into it much. Some people (well maybe a lot) will say FT gets old/repetitive quickly, but I disagree. It is pretty easy to learn what you need to do, but doing it often and consistent is the trouble here. Original theme, and well played. A very fun game for sure!

I've owned Creech, (wish I would have kept it) but I think FT is a little more fun. They both have great artwork(IMHO) but Creech is lacking a good multiball sequence(it's only 2 balls). They both have good video modes, if you're into that sort of thing.
