Great forum and sooooooo glad I came across this community during my searches!

Wondering if anyone can PM me and help with a lead.

Looking for a MM machine, preferably new, Special Edition or Royal Edition.

Been searching for a while and found a few, but the dealers are, well, not being anywhere near fair on pricing.

If that's how this works, what the market will support, I guess in the end I am ok with that, but it still feels a little sticky going well above MSRP.

Thanks again for any constructive leads and really appreciate everyone who put together and runs this website.

Take care all and happy gaming!!!

Are they really charging over MSRP? I guess pinball sales were not hurt by Covid....

#3 3 years ago

What prices are you being quoted? Are they charging sales tax? Also most prices I’ve seen include shipping and don’t expect to find one under MSRP, that doesn’t happen with CGC machines, unless buying used.

#4 3 years ago

Almost $10k for a SE shipped. Again...Not trying to complain, and I will not post the sellers because that is up to them, just trying to feel out the market. Chicago's website shows $8999 and honestly, I was thinking a little fat off that would be nice, not much, but maybe a couple hundred. Maybe I am in left field. Gotta be some leads out there. Appreciate it fellows.

#5 3 years ago

Where are you shipping to? Domestic is typically around 500. International 1200 or more is not uncommon.

#6 3 years ago

Shipping is usually around 300. Are you in a state that requires they collect sales tax by chance? Yeah you probably won’t find Remakes for less than MSRP unless they are used. CGC sets the price.

Can't really help you much unless we know where you are.

I will guess Pittsburgh.

OK, Google and 2 minutes to kill helped.

Yes, I am located in Pittsburgh, PA.

REALLY prefer a Royal Edition, but I am having a hard time locating one.

If anyone can send me a lead it would be appreciated.

Thanks again everyone.

RE might limit your options as available stock might be low. But: To get the best pricing I have found:

1) Pay in cash, no transaction fee should get you 2% off MSRP.
2) Pick up in person to save delivery charges.

Those 2 things should save you close to $500.

#11 3 years ago

My experience with CGC games is that you almost always pay MSRP on new and 300 to ship. If you pick up in person, expect to pay sales tax. If you get it shipped from another state that collects sales tax for your state, expect to pay it.

I bought an MMr exactly as I described.

You are going to have to either get on a list with a distributor for a RE spot that might shake loose, or buy a spot if one comes available. There was one listed here on the marketplace a couple weeks back. CGC isn’t making enough of the SEs and REs to meet demand, in all honesty.

#14 3 years ago

Thanks for the advice fellows. Found a RE, well sort of. If anyone else wants it PM me, seller wants $13,500. Sorry, too rich for my blood. Still looking, thanks everyone. Hard to believe Chicago games has such a goldmine in their laps and refuses to up production, or more like simply cant. I know they're smaller, but wow...Anyway, keeping the faith.

Pretty amazing demand is still so high for this game right now.

The reboot is too new, stock too limited. My suggestion- buy an MMR and upgrade. Many of those on the list are selling original reboots to upgrade. That may be your best bet in getting a”deal”. Or suck it up and pay. Welcome to an expensive hobby!

#17 3 years ago

I wanted to buy an MMr-SE 6 months ago and the distributor here (who I know casually) told me his allocation was spoken for on the day of announcement and that I could add my name to the list, but there was just no way that he'd have that many cancellations.

I ended up buying a MBr-SE instead.

Amen to that...lol.

They are small enough that they only have a single production line for pinball. If they are making MMR, then they can't be making other games. That is why between each game they produce they have been doing a run of MMR, so they can sell more of them but still make other games as well. Standing up another production line is expensive and they may feel there is not enough demand to do so.

Just have patience (I know its hard sometimes), but I guarantee you you'll find a nice HUO one at some point. I wouldn't focus on the RE as u can always upgrade a standard with all the features of RE (for around $1500)

#21 3 years ago

Thanks Wamoc...that's what I heard too about the production line...I also heard another run is coming, but who knows when.

Personally, I think going well above MSRP is a mistake in the long run since there will be more...eventually, whenever that is.

#22 3 years ago

Tough to predict going forward. The demand is high again now for MMr b/c everyone was just waiting for the big display to match AFM and MB. I could see them running another batch of SEs down the line, after CC. But they will be really pushing out the display and RGB kits for the original version buyers for some time to come. I wouldn't count on another batch of Royals.

I'd give these three a call:
800.727.8363 - Automated
570-357-0042 - Pinball Star
412-331-8703 - Betson

They're all reasonably close to you. I wouldn't ordinarily put Betson on ANY list, but they may have stock allocation and aren't on many people's lists when buying pinball machines.

Struck out with all 3, but thanks.

I did find a couple grey sellers...if you want to call them that. They want 35%-40% markup. I know some out there will not pa ya penny above MSRP.
I'd like to believe I'm realistic and more market driven in my approach, but this is not precious metal folks, lol. Anyway, thats too rich for my blood. Also, not feeling really good about the deals...I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate...he is the one selling it, lol, plus communication is not as responsive as I like...you get the point. If someone else wants to throw that much money to the wind, and potentially get hosed, let me know and I'll kindly pass along the couple POC I found, but claim zero affiliation or responsibility if a deal went south, I dont know these parties from Adam.

Well, if anyone else comes across a LEGIT lead and is willing to share please let me know. Much obliged and will kindly return the favor / good karma to someone else downstream if I can help.

I'm still having trouble believing that distributors are charging you a premium over M.S.R.P. I know others have asked but can you verify if your quotes include tax or shipping? That makes a huge difference.

Yeah, this sounds like bizarro world to me. Never heard of anyone paying a penny over MSRP for a NIB remake (aside from tax/shipping).

Pinballs - $8750 plus ship for a Classic. Classic msrp $7999. They also quoted $10000 for a SE.

Bumpernets- $8550 plus shipping for a Classic.

Tax not included in either quote.

I will come back later to post the two others for RE, much - much higher markup.

Look, it is what it is....I don't like or agree with it, but accept its the current market and if they can sell them, I guess that's capitalism. I just don't think I want want to pay a scalpers fee, but maybe I will...who knows, just wish CGC would up production instead.
