Oh, it is an Australian slang word, it basically just means great/fantastic etc etc.
In American terms for instance, if your quarterback is a great player, we would say that he is a gun.

It is a term of endearment, "my son is a gun football player", "Tiger Woods is a gun golfer", "Champion Pub is a gun pinball machine".

Sorry if i was misunderstood, we talk a lot of slang over here..
