Please Help. I am looking to purchase a nice High Speed pinball that has been completely shopped and gone through. I see the value or asking price is all over the board depending on condition. I am just out of Chicago and found a very nice game locally . Nice cabinet , play field back glass LED,s and shopped. He is asking $ 4.000.00 I offered $ 3.000.00 and he cant do it. I seen them on E Bay at this price but from what I read on pinside forums that seems too much. Has the price of a ( NICE ) High Speed gone up that much or is it just bad timing ? I am new to the pinball family but I hope to be around for awhile. I am not familiar or comfortable yet to work on them so I wanted to purchase something I can enjoy first. I have also looked at some real junk locally that makes me fear having it shipped unseen . Any help from you guys would be appreciated. Thank you Herman

I’d think that seems high priced. I think you could get a nice dmd pin for the price he is asking. I’d say shop around unless your heart is set on a high speed specifically.

Even if your heart is set on a High Speed, 3k is veryyyyy high. You'd be alot better off shopping around here or on one of the FB groups. For an "average" HS (all subjective of course) you are probably looking around $1600 +/- region, condition, etc.

Even 3k is too much in my opinion. It's always best if you can be patient and have a few titles in mind that you look out for. If you want a specific title and want it now, you're probably going to overpay.

I sold a pretty nice one with a touched up and cleared playfield, new ramp, rebuilt mechs, etc. for $1700 in 2015.

I have had several of them over the years and never sold one for over about $1250. I have not had one in the past couple years but I don't think a High Speed is worth much over about $1500 to $1600 unless it has been fully restored with new playfield.

I currently own a High Speed...it’s a fantastic pin and would definitely be a great choice for a first pin as well. That being said...4k is insane...3k is still crazy. They made a ton of them and they come up for sale regularly...be patient. I personally would not pay more than 2k for a very nice one...just my 2 cents...good luck!

Wow , Thank you all so much. I will be patient and keep my eyes open on the site. I greatly appreciate your input.

A better deal will come along soon! There are probably a bunch of pins in the marketplace here that you would enjoy. Don't get too hung up on that one. Another is always around the corner.

Whoa! Whoa!! Whoa!!!

Do not...do NOT pay that for a high speed!
You can buy a REALLY nice high speed, all day, for 2000 or less.

Pinside, craigslist, Facebook, eBay, or a pinball show will all have plenty of listings for 2k or less. They made a ton of them. They aren't rare. There will be no shortage of them.
