Are there symptoms a sign of a bad dmd or bad cable/ board?

Any troubleshooting tips would be great!!

Already reseated cables from dmd and board.

I just had a similar looking problem tonight, and reseating my ribbon cables solved the issue. One seemed to have shaken a little loose, and I suspect that was the issue.

Replace the cables. They are over 30 years old and most likely have internal corrosion.

Re-seating them will probably work but it isn't a fix. The problem is likely to return.

Last time I had a scrambled dmd, removing and reseating IC chip fixed it. Try doing that with U6
