Pinsiders, we need your help! We need to get some fresh eyes on Monster Bash.

We are located in Cicero, IL. There are a limited number of spots available. If you're interested in helping us out, PM me directly with the dates and times you're available Thursday, August 23 through Wednesday, August 29th (including Saturday, 8/25). Help us make this game great(er)!

Just a few requirements:
1) We ask for an hour commitment (Roughly 45 minutes of play and 15 minutes to discuss);
2) A non-disclosure agreement must be signed;
3) No unscheduled drop-ins!

Schedule:
Thursday, August 23: 12pm-4pm
Friday, August 24: 12pm-4pm
Saturday, August 25: 11am-5pm
Monday, August 27: 12pm-4pm
Tuesday, August 28: 10am-4pm
Wednesday, August 29: 10am-4pm

Same thing I was thinking. I'd like to get the 45 minutes under the hood.

Awesome, getting close.

#10 5 years ago

Darn, won’t be in Chicago over that time period.

#11 5 years ago

So you basically get to play 1 game......

#12 5 years ago

Question.....do games still go out "on test" like they used to? As in dropped into a Chicago are arcade for coin drop and the manufacturer pays attention to earnings, issues, etc?

#13 5 years ago

Love this idea! Wish I was closer!! Will gladly evaluate the looks of it through the interwebs if you’ll let me

#14 5 years ago

Wow! I actually do wish I was closer!

If you guys just want to send me a game, i'll give you all the engineering/play feedback you can handle.

This is a great idea but can meaningful changes still be made at this late date?

I would think it is feature complete, and testing that would require tweaking would likely be fine

Its probably a marketing test. They will tell you a price and you respond to it with your opinion.

#18 5 years ago

Nothing against those that go, but....I bet we see some leaks...unless they don’t allow phones and cameras in the play test area

I hope not. No sense testing those NDA's.

My guess is you won’t be asked to participate then. Lol. If you can’t respect or comply with an NDA for an American Manufacturing company you should not consider volunteering. I sign NDAs with companies weekly from military to simple inventions and have always respected the opportunity and trust to support an American company building. Manufacturing Is the foundation of economy in the US. I am proud to see companies wanting to bring that principle back home.

Definitely! We want to be sure that we catch an issues/quirks in game play before we start shipping. It helps to get fresh eyes on it, catch anything we may have missed. We won't be changing features at this point, just making sure that we are shipping out the absolute best game we can.

Nope. We need some hours put on the game and need to make sure there aren't any issues in game play before we start production. We'd hate to miss something. We won't even be telling testers the pricing.

Will the participants be allowed to play with settings on the menus for flipper strength, etc? Might help avoid an AfMr-type board destroying bug in the wild.

#24 5 years ago

I will see if a certain someone in Madison, Wisconsin will provide a letter of recommendation for me.....

Will you provide plane fare and hotel accommodations ?

I would also consider it if you would provide one continental breakfast.

If by continental breakfast you mean Cheetos from the vending machine... maybe.

Some very generous offers there and I thank you both, but I've received harsh criticism on some of my honest game reviews as of late, so it may be best to go with those in the majority that already have a preconceived notion of game greatness to keep everybody happy.

I can help you right now just get rid of all the CD graphics and it won't look so dated.

Which game code will you be letting the testers play?

This game has been out for 20 years. CGC stated NO software changes were made in the gameplay. The layout is the same as the original just like MMR & AFMR. I really do not understand the bring in the testers strategy. CGC defenitly knows how to make a game.. CGC has more experience now then ever before manufacturing pinball machines. I know they make great products and I will be purchasing a large amount of MBR games however this is odd to me. Perhaps it's great PR? Let's get everyone excited as we are waiting for the last liscense approval kind of thing. I wish nothing but the best for CGC. I'm a huge fan of their products and customer service. Ashley any chance a sneak peak teaser picture can be added in this thread. I dont want to speak for anyone else but a teaser picture would really get the crowd going. Lots of customers have been waiting paitently. Perhaps a kind gesture is in order. Please!

Man, imagine if they went with that awesome planked playfield art version? Would turn me to a buyer instantly.

You keep looking at a game long enough and you can miss stuff. They've been working on MMR and AFMR games too.

Fresh eyes or different eyes might spot something obvious. And playing a bunch of games. Not just one and done. And not just factory people who may not be pinheads, Ashley asked here for help. From pinheads.

You ever replace some burned out bulbs in a game and close it up, only to then see you missed one ?

When you get used to things, it's easier to make a mistake.

And CGC wants to be sure nothing is missed.

I've seen it in person a few times at my friends house it is a work of art! Just totally reminds me of a haunted house, mainly thanks to Mario cart. lol

Like I said in my last couple posts, we need testers playing the game, putting hours on it, making sure no issues come up in gameplay that we may have missed. Not PR, just trying to ship a quality product! We would like to ship this product knowing that our customers are getting the best possible game we could send.

Ashley, this is called the "right thing to do." Some Pinsiders wouldn't recognize the "right thing to do" if it bit them on their butts.

So Ashley, does this mean licensor approval has been obtained?

Not yet.

#45 5 years ago

Considering there were some initial issues with MMr and AFMr I think this makes sense and should make new owners have a better smoother experience.

Good on CGC to get some outside testing done.

#46 5 years ago

Ashley,
I wish I didn’t live so far away or I’d be coming to test it I can’t wait to put my le next to my afm le and your games are amazing build quality; such attention to detail; my wife can’t wait for monsters to show up too

There's an Aldi's a couple blocks South of the plant & office. Their Clancy's knock-off Cheetos and Doritos are really good and a great value. Don't forget to take a quarter with you to rent a shopping cart.

#49 5 years ago

Any idea on time frames...... Just kinda tough when there are sooooo many good titles out right now and so few spots and cash. Cant have them all.

Just looking for some light at the end of the tunnel as we have been hearing a release for months, and my money is burning a hole in my pocket and starting to and look elsewhere.

Can't get to Chicago, but we'll be happy to test it here on location. We have remote recorded video via security cam on the machines you can access to watch players as they experience the game (or have issues) if you want. Was very helpful tracking down issues with WoZ, Iron Maiden, and Houdini because it allowed us to send video of when the problem(s) happened on very early run machines.
