I have a cactus jacks that has worked perfectly for 5+ yrs. Today a ball went into multiball hole and then seemed as though no solenoids worked. I manually removed the ball replaced in trough new game didnt start. I went to test mode enter solenoid test push credit nothing from left bumper. Pushed front cabinet button right and left and i cant change solenoid. I checked removed/reconnected a3ja connector on driver board nothing still. F8 slow blow 8v fuse still seems good. What could cause no function of the buttons?

Did you check the fuse (removed from the game) with a multimeter?

Secondary cause: broken wire. Check continuity from problem area back to the board.

Fuse is good that was my first thought. Even without a fuse in place I should be able to use the scroll buttons in test mode as I verified it on another cactus jacks game. Cant be a broken wire because its 3 different switches. When I unplug the A3J3 plug on the other game I can replicate the condition so it seems like it may be related to that connector.

You didn't say, but since you did state you couldn't start a game I am assuming the game is booting correctly into attract mode.

Raise the playfield and check the connectors in the cabinet.

Gottlieb switch matrix runs off the lamp strobes. Do the computer controlled light work? if so, are there any groups out (one bad strobe driver)?
