Mine could get stuck here when I got it if you hit that area while the trunk was turning. The ball search wouldn't release it. I added a thin disc of sheet metal about the diameter of a pencil eraser to cover the divot in the t-nut, and covered that with a 1" mylar disc. Now you can still get behind the trunk with a well (poorly) timed hit, but ball search always releases it.
