So I fly home yesterday morning at 8AM. At 4:30PM I'm picking up my new TOM which I've been trying to find for about 12 years.

It's 4:30AM. And I'm back in the car headed to the airport to head back out to work.

Oh and I'm cruising Pinside as I drive.

I think I have a problem. I need a support group.

Chris

not going to get any help here

Congrats on the TOM!

Welcome to the Theatre of Magic!

Chris

Not going to get that help here unless you want to see people that are in worse shape thean you. "It's 5 O'Clock"

#5 10 years ago

I will help you!

Load the game in my car

#7 10 years ago

Only problem I see you have Chris; is remembering where you left your new TOM, took you 12 years to find it this time, make a note of where it is today and keep it in your back pocket (the note not the pin)

Pics and congrats

#8 10 years ago

Don't worry..it'll get MUCH worse.

We're building a house and I'll have room for about 13-15 pins. Which means I might have to scale back maybe a couple...

In the last 3 months I bought 5 pins...

#9 10 years ago

Quit your job. Problem solved!

#10 10 years ago

So............
What's the problem?

#11 10 years ago

its a worry it took you 12 years to find a ToM, Other than that you'll be fine .. we all know we can stop any time we want to

#12 10 years ago

Stop looking at your phone when you're driving. You're going to kill somebody.

#13 10 years ago

I've only been part of this hobby since Feb. and I find pinball consuming many of my thoughts and a lot of my cash. Yes, I too have this disease (and not currently looking for any cure )

#14 10 years ago

If you figure out a cure, please let me know. It is just getting out of hand. It's not only buying the pins but it is the obsession to improve the condition of every pin in your collection.

#15 10 years ago

I have problems myself. Welcome to the club.

#16 10 years ago

i dont think the devil spends alot of time recruiting in hell.

#17 10 years ago

I can relate lol

#18 10 years ago

Yeah, can we start a 12-step group which has no desire to recover from their "addiction"?

Hi. I'm Fanatic and I'm a pinball junkie.........
Got any good pins for sale or trade??

#19 10 years ago

I am less than a month into my pinball obsession, and I am already majorly obsessed!

#20 10 years ago

The first step is admitting you have a problem. You should be fine now.

#21 10 years ago
Quoted from BadBrad97:

I did that ... back whe I owned 3 pins

#22 10 years ago

Hi Chris!
Welcome to the group.
You will be ok.
The first step which you have accomplished is to accept that you have a problem.
Now at the back of the room we have some Beer and Nachos.
After as a group we have polished those off we are going to get together with this fine selection of Pinball Machines at the front of the room and have what they call a Pinball Tournament.
While we are doing this we will discuss your next Pinball Machine on your wish list .
Drink more beer. Reflect. Drink more beer. Develop strategy to find your next Pinball Machine .
Drink more beer. As you can tell our group meetings can go we'll in to the night.
Drink more beer. Pause. Reflect . Tell a few jokes. Play more pinball.
Declare winner of Tournament . Drink more beer. Share a few more laughs.
Drink more beer. Maybe play more pinball. Thanks for coming to Pinaholics Anonymous.
See you next week same time. Hopefully by next meeting you have acquired your wish list machine.
Have a nice day Chris!

#23 10 years ago

we share more than just the problem! Congrats on finally tracking her down.

+1. Not worth the potential tragedy or ticket. Wait till you get to work and get paid for cruising Pinside.

#25 10 years ago

We all have this problem, not just you Chris.

Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:

Yeah, I get while that this post is all in fun, but seriously--don't be looking at your phone while driving!

#27 10 years ago

Only problem I see is this distraction called "work" but so far as I can tell, few have been cured.

#28 10 years ago

I know they are casting that new pinball reality show, or attempting too, but realistically they could just put most of us on intervention. Even when I don't have cash available I'm still cruising craigslist looking for deals, or possible trades even though I'm very happy with my games. It certainly is some sort of mental disorder, or condition, but hey if it makes us happy who cares, we could all be buying crack cocaine or heroin instead, at least our hobby seems relatively harmless.....now to just make it profitable.

#29 10 years ago

Welcome to my world....

#30 10 years ago

I wish I had your problems (all 20 of them)! Is this Ben's game? I thought I remembered a trade... TOM is a great game.

This isn't Ben's game.... This was from a long time collector in Brookfield. My buddy bought the TOM, and Dave M. bought the MM and AFM. All three were really nice examples.

Chris, these first world problems can be really tough, but there is one man than can help-

Well the problem was I never wanted to pay the price. Apparently I found a new state o mind after paying for my NIB AC/DC and MET. Now $4k seem like a deal.

Tim, I use your line all the time. I give you credit. But your right. I'll shut my mouth now.

Owning 20 games didn;t already clue you in on your problem?

No, because he has room for more.....

Chris

No credit due, 1st world problem are a serious thing....

You aren't going to tell Pinside your other problem? (You know the one where you have to where that Vanilla Ice Patriotic Sequened outfit to all of your pinball functions)... That is the real issue here....Your pinball obsession is completely under control....

#37 10 years ago

I think that your biggest problem is that you think you have a problem!!

#38 10 years ago

I have a air mattress that I can put under my pins and I can nurse you back to health with some of my Patersbier..........St. Uff'da. Then we can buy a huge jug of cheap red wine and invite Tony over. I'll have to tell my wife to go out for the evening because of you know who.

#39 10 years ago

When am in the market for a new pin, which I am right now, I am all over Pinside. When I am not I take a break. It is addictive.
Good people, lots of knowledge and pinball. What is not to like?

#40 10 years ago

Congrats on the TOM!

Hi Im Silverballer and Im not a pornstar anymore. Wait a minute wrong thread.
Congrats on picking up TOM. Strange because I just sold mine after owning it for almost 12 years. I would never of let it go but ACDC called to me. Loudly.
Hope you have years of enjoyment from TOM. It has such great flow. Fix the junk in the trunk or she will get all bashed up.

No Jonogo is just setting me up. He must have about 3 or 4 pins that have been in his gameroom for more that 5 weeks. About 2 weeks past when he normally turns them over.

My support group is right next door to the Jonogo Flow support group.
Chris

#46 10 years ago

I can totally see your problem. Airplanes. Riding on airplanes is COMPLETELY RUINING your pinball time. You need a job that requires less travel.

Chris

ES has been there for over 5 weeks. Hi Score for a year plus. The rest are under the 2 week mark.

Jonogo flow needs no support. I do just fine on my own. Now, get back to driving and posting on pinside!

#48 10 years ago

Only help I can give is more lecture style advice.

PUT DOWN THE PHONE WHILE YOU DRIVE.

Otherwise I did not hear the problem.....

Sounds like you have an enabler already. You are the overflow gameroom for Jonogo =D
