Nice! Looking forward to getting my Full Throttle soon. Are you on track for January production goodness, Andrew?

Subtle and modest

Great to see some action in the Heighway factory.

Let's hope they have got all the other parts by now. They need to speed it up if they are gonna make the latest end of March shipping deadline for the first 20 machines.

Full (throttle) speed ahead

Exciting times.

Thanks for the update, frolic.

No e-mail for me yet but I was told a few months ago that I am in the first 20 machine batch so it is all good. Great to have pinside in these cases

EDIT: Never mind. Got it now

Great video and I am so happy for Heighway pinball that production has started. Let's hope they get the CNC up and running fast so that it does not hold up production for too long.

Only thing I am a little bit disappointed with is the standard black plastic aprons. Not a big fan of those on Stern games but this is not a big deal. PS! I thought the clear ones looked a bit better. Maybe those are for the LE's?

#220 9 years ago

This looks brilliant, Andrew. A must have add-on.

I am really grateful that Heighway made the effort to include this. It means a lot to us, Andrew.

Sorry to hear that you are having some supplier difficulties, Andrew but it is great to hear that you value quality control above all.

Did you get the CNC up and running?

Best of luck with everything

#252 9 years ago

Sorry to hear that you had to buy a new compressor. At least you are getting a new one pretty quick.

Thank you for the quick response, Andrew and best of luck!

PS! Not to worry, I am sure that the troubles will soon be over. Sounds like you are in full control of the situation and that is great to hear.

Again, big kudos for the transparency!!!

Quoted from jungle:

A super fast game but you don't lose many balls down the sides. That's the perfect combination for most home owners isn't it ? I think this will be a winner with pinheads. I'm still not sure from an operating view both from getting the game played ( I think the additional LCD will be needed ) and whether vandals/thieves will view the side panel as a weak spot.

A good thing about the side panels is that they can be replaced without having to buy a whole new cabinet. Really smart solution, and from the pictures I have seen, they look great with the leds over and under the decals. Will Probably look cool in a dark location.

I agree that the second lcd is a must on location (and in private homes )

I think they should just make the second lcd standard from their next game(when buying the whole cabinet) and just charge a little more. Can't imagine anyone not going for that option

Quoted from RyanStl:

My point is the website should have a ton of pics of FT since it has shipped and nothing to hide. When you click on the link to see the game and possibly purchase there are no good pics of the playfield, the inside, and outside of the game. BTW, I think Stern's website sucks as well. They don't provide the pics you want to see either. If they do, they make it hard to find.

I agree with this 100% but luckily for us we have a seller that is very good to answer our questions and requests and Andrew has already said that this is coming soon.

Quoted from dgpinball:

I'm looking forward to playing FT at the Landyatchz party on Sunday, will be very interesting to see how it has evolved since I saw it at Expo last year. Have to say though, the frame around the glass is very close to a deal breaker for me, that will have to change on Alien which I REALLY want to like!!

I have a feeling that you will change your mind when you see the polished chrome version Andrew has been talking about

#534 8 years ago

That's a great video. Thanks for posting it.

Looks like the trick to good scores is to stack challenges. Pity he didn't get to start final challenge at the end there, but I guess it is nice to have a few surprises when the game arrives also

Winning all the races looks like it could be hard to achieve but I am up to the challenge

Hurry up, Andrew

Quoted from Kevlar:

Great video. Does anyone else think it strange that the clear plastic over the playfield screen seems to be sat on bare wood where the playfield has been machined out? i.e not painted or a black seal or something to stop it looking like bare wood? just a minor thing, something I noticed.

I agree. Not a big deal on Full Throttle for me (it almost fits the theme somehow) but I am hoping (and guessing) that it will not have that bare wood look on Alien. It would stand out on a darker playfield much more.

Hoping this can be fixed easily

The original plan was mid to late October, last I checked for batch 2.

I was told last week that I had to wait until late November/early December because of the big screen in the backbox I ordered a couple of weeks ago. They might have a few standard games without extras finished by now.

There is also some delay regarding the LE features, like the light tubes and shaker. Sounds like a couple of more weeks for the le's.
