About nr 3: Not the one that I would be most excited about, but my guess for nr. 3 is Dr Who. Who made the first Dr Who and is also designing nr 3 for Heighway? Makes perfect sense

As long as it doesn't have that %#!$'ing MPF...I hate working on that thing. New Dr WHO would be cool.

I'm actually rooting for Harry Potter...my kids would go nuts if I had a HP kit to drop in our game. They actually asked (unprovoked) if there was a HP pinball machine and started listing off all the cool things you could have in it...got me on board.

    #152 7 years ago

    1) Bladerunner
    2) Traci Lords - Beverly Hills Copulator
    3) The Exorcist
    4) Hilarious House of Frightenstein

    would buy

    #153 7 years ago

Aliens and a couple of the titles on the list might tip me to the Heighway model. One cab and multiple great games inside would be sweet.

    #154 7 years ago

Predator lets get that going Andrew, I would need that in its own cab to be next to Aliens, I don't care what FFace Kulek did I was in on that and recovered most of my funds but it didn't deter me from wanting a Predator pin and Heighway would actually do it justice, like Aliens choose either film and lots of multi's with lighting to complement glo balls, oh no I just got excited in the pants department.

    #155 7 years ago

Hilarious house of Frightenstein would kick serious ass.

Right! And we fans know what the bash toy would be already.

    #157 7 years ago

I'll roll the dice and say.

    #158 7 years ago

    That would be beyond awesome.

Lots of other great ideas in this thread too.. can't wait to find out which one it is.

    #159 7 years ago

To be fair I'm fairly confident that It will be Doctor Who. The shows studio is based in cardiff which is 40 mins away from the factory and the test location would be in the doctor who experience in cardiff bay. It is only logical that it would be.

Interesting. Well I've designed game 3 with Barry Oursler and the real answer will surprise all of you! I like the idea of a Monty Python table though.

So do I. Definitely one I'd choose to do.

    Wait thats already been done.

Hopefully Andrew is on point to offer it in the future!

If anyone introduces an Harry Potter pinball machine my wife will be handing me cash and insisting I buy it immediately, it wouldn't matter if I liked it or not (I almost certainly would) it would be in our house ASAP!

Poll added to pass the time!

    #168 7 years ago

    H. Potter takes the lead in early voting...this is the power of the anonymous poll. People claim they wouldn't want a Potter but secretly they do when they get in the voting booth.

Harry Potter is winning the pole. What the hell is going on out there? With Blade Runner, Predator and James Bond Harry is is the current top pic.

HP would be a smash hit. It would bring in all age groups that have a passing interest in pinball. They can make Blade Runner later...awesome movie but nowhere near as prevalent in pop culture as HP.

    #175 7 years ago
    Quoted from Wickerman2:

    ...awesome movie

    Awesome movies potentially...
With nothing new on the Potter horizon this could be more immediately relevant, prevalent no.

    #176 7 years ago

Would Blondie have enough rock tracks ? Visually good as long as it's from way back ! Sex Pistols would be popular over here not sure about America. May be better Lemmy ( than Motorhead ) then you can have Silver Machine ( Hawkwind )

I disagree, its not bringing in any new young pinheads, its good for you Dad's out there, the wife might let you buy it cause the kids dig Harry. Don't BullStein me

    ? How...why...what?

Kids still read HP like crazy! They watch the movies over and over and over. The Universal Studios HP just opened...completely current, pulling in new readers/fans every year. I'm missing the basis for your disagreement completely. I have 2 real live children and their friends as my anecdotal evidence.

    #179 7 years ago

And don't forget Warners is planning to make 3 (THREE?) movies out of the Cursed Child play.

I think you got it, tell me how many of these kids can afford a NIB pinball machine? Mmmmmm seems like someone might be allowed to buy a new 8K toys for the children ofcourse, its like that song "I believe the children are our future" just kidding, maybe arcades are coming back in states more so than Canada, I just don't see young people of today going out to play pinball, barcades sure but they are all older, if HPotter is a theme you guys like then I sincerely hope it gets made, I wish more of my desired themes would, Aliens is the first one in a long time.

    #181 7 years ago

Someone mentioned Die Hard. That would be a dream pin for me. Just base it on the first movie. Have a Nakatomi Tower on the playfield somewhere. Some great callouts from the movie. Gameplay based on defeating henchmen till final wizard mode where you face Hans Gruber. I love crime-themed pins like DH or LW and it's been awhile since anybody's made one.

I just watched Gremlins 2 and would love a pin based on that franchise as well. In the second movie the Gremlins take control of the projector room showing the movie and start making shadow puppets on the screen. Apparently for the VHS versions they changed it to look like they took over your TV. Even in the novelization, the Gremlins lock the writer in a closet and take over the book until the writer breaks out.

You could make some unique modes where you're fighting the Gremlins within the pin similar to these instances.

me either but parents will buy them in hopes of roping the family in to their hobby...and like I said earlier, my kids randomly suggested HP would be a fun pinball machine.

And the ones that do make it to location would grab more business...kids/parents in general know HP and would play it at the local pizza place a lot more than a (albeit cool) dark Blade Runner...

Forget the kids/parents, I want a Blade Runner pin.

Are original themes not cool any longer?

    #185 7 years ago
    Quoted from Sticky:

Are original themes not cool any longer?

They are but when HP is winning over Predator as a pin theme I don't think its going to matter much.

    #186 7 years ago

I've always said that I was never a fan of Harry Potter, but it was screaming for a pinball machine. So many toy opportunities. This would be a big seller.

    #187 7 years ago
    Quoted from ahdelarge:

This would be a big seller.

that's my point. I want Heighway to be a success. It could be a really fun game too...but would be huge seller.

If this was what are your "dream" themes for game #3 that would be a different story.

    #188 7 years ago

Original themes are tough to discuss on a forum until you get to see it and play it. Pre-orders are pretty difficult to rack up on original themes too.

    Quoted from Wickerman2:

I agree. I think most of you are also forgetting that the kids who grew up with Harry Potter in late 90s/early 00s are in their late 20s now. They've read all the books, seen all the movies, enjoy barcades & are having children of their own. A Potter pin is a slam dunk theme & could draw a young generation into pinball, or at least grab their attention if they ever saw one somewhere.

If anyone has the best chance to get these UK licenses & fully utilize all the movie assets, it's going to be Heighway IMO. I think that's going to be clearly evident once Alien is revealed.

Potter isn't really my cup of tea, and neither is MotoGP racing, but boy I sure love me some Full Throttle Themes get your attention, but gameplay is always king.

    #190 7 years ago

All in for MOTORHEAD. Also would like to see Predator pin made some day.

Would be really cool, but realistically only a homebrew would make this. What % of the population knows who Lovecraft is or what the characters are from? I think a Black Company game would be awesome but how many Glen Cook pinball player fans are there?

Spooky could do it, with their run sizes, for sure.

Way too esoteric for the theme and future run sizes that Heighway are aiming at though.

With all this Blade Runner talk I would have thought this thread would have bumped itself.

    #200 7 years ago

If their next pin really is hp i would prob cancel my dialed in preorder and get alien just so i could get the hp kit later.

Any estimates on when the announcement is?
