Data East WWF Royal Rumble....

Game played fine, then while working on the machine, I smelled something burning. Not sure why but the coil under the playfield that pushes the ball up to the ball shooter got very hot, apparently seized up and melted the sleeve.

I replaced the coil. The solenoid fired repeatedly and then stopped. All the while it was firing, still wasn’t loading a ball. Then I heard a pop in the backbox. Now the solenoid doesn’t fire at all.

Multiple problems and symptoms....where do I start?

I can't tell from your post if you are talking about the ball being ejected from the trough into the shooter lane, or the ball being launched from the shooter lane to the playfield that isn't working.

Either way though, what you're describing is not unfamiliar to me. I had something similar happen on the kickback lane of my Rocky and Bullwinkle that ended up being a blown transistor (and you probably cooked that new coil in the process).

Trough into the shooter lane.

I have replaced the coil. I’m a. It over my head with. Lards and the such. How do I locate/test the transistor?

So yes, the Q45 transistor needs to be replaced. Asking what i am sure is a newbie question, but, what is the proper part number/transistor type to order as a replacement?
