Let's all wish the greatest designer in EM history a heartfelt HAPPY 104TH BIRTHDAY!!!
Wayne Neyens turns 104 (!) tomorrow.
I hear he isn't in the greatest health, and is in an assisted living facility.
For those who are so inclined, say a little prayer for him. What a living legend. God bless him!

I hope Wayne is in good enough health to get in the daily games (I forget what title he said was his favorite).

Absolutely incredible to reach such an age.

    I don't think he's playing anymore.
He donated his "Spirit of '76" (#10,000) a couple of years ago.
He's often spoken highly of "Lightning Ball", and his crowning achievement, "Queen of Hearts".
    Pinball was keeping him young.

It was interesting to hear why he liked Queen of Hearts so much.

Seems it was because he was super stoked about the mech he made for the game.

Fantastic designer - the Keith Elwin of the 1950's! ( although not sure what his playing skills were like ).

Maybe after a week or so, someone could print out this thread and send it to Wayne. I am sure most of us are willing to participate in printing and posting costs.

I spoke to Wayne's daughter Pat just now by phone. She allows that I am posting this information.

Wayne is in hospice. Things are imminent. Both daughters Pat and Betty are with him. She said he was most interested in making it to 104. She had told him it was ok if he didn't but he said no he wanted to make it to 104, often asking how long until his birthday.

I told Pat of the well-wishes from pinsiders (this thread and elsewhere) and she expressed appreciation for all of Wayne's pinball friends.

    God bless Wayne.

I kind of thought he was on the decline, but was hoping for better news. He sure has had a long and wonderful life. God bless him.

Just played some Diamond Lil ( 1955 ).

Incredible game, shooting inner and outer loops with reverse flippers.

    Wayne will not be forgotten.

Happy Birthday to Wayne! Speaking with Wayne, then getting to meet him for his 100th and after the release of our book was a large source of joy for me. I've never met another person quite like him! He also /soundly/ beat me on his Spirit of '76. Haha!

Happy Birthday Wayne. Excellent schematic @mopar. Goes well with this: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/wayne-neyens-troubleshooting-letter

Here's hoping for 105! In his honor I played a game on my seen-better-days-but-works-great Poker Face and it was the most exciting ending I ever had on it. My last ball finally puts out the #6 of the 1-6 sequence lites for the rollunder specials... but before I could shoot for them the very next bounce fell right into the Jack gobble hole and I got 2 credits for four of a kind and it saved my butt.
