Well I've done what I know how to do so I figured I would throw it up on the board and see if anyone has any suggestions. I'm not much of a tech but trying to learn.

Started out as a MPU replacement after pretty substantial battery leak damage. Popped in this replacement board

http://bayareaamusements.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PC-WPC089

Now everything works except 3 solenoids: 01 Outhole, 09 UL pop 25 eyes right

Checked the fire transistors and solenoids, they all test good.

Thats the extent of my troubleshooting knowledge. Is it possible it's a compatibility issue with new MPU? Could it be a corroded contact in one of the MPU connectors (i didn't replace them)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If nothing else, anyone in the Sacramento area that does quality repair?

Thanks,

Kevin

Try reseating/swapping the ribbon cable. Does solenoid 17 work? 1,9,25 all follow a pattern of being a multiple of 8 + 1 which sounds like some sort of data line issue

Re-seating it worked! but now I have a couple switch errors, must be connection related. Going to check/reseat everything.

Thanks zacaj

I'd pick up a new cable next chance you get.

Is that the same cable used for years on IDE hard drives? Sure looks like it!

I'm not sure if they'd have the same number of pins, but if so that'd technically work. But I'd get a brand new one if possible. The cable being old is possibly what caused this
