Quoted from EJS:I think most if not all OCBs are gone around here but I recall the lunches were always cheaper than the dinners. Dinner food had better selection. I remember stories of people coming in late for the lunch shift and wait for dinner to come out. I guess it depends on how you value your time.
I think they do have the right to kick you out. I’m sure there’s some sort of law they could get you on.
My step brother would always pay for the cheap ski lift at a local place and cut over to the expensive location. One time he and his friends all came back with “theft of service” citations.
I worked at OCB for 5 years in the mid to late 90's. It was my first real job ever. The stories I have. People definitely did come right at the end of breakfast / lunch to get dinner prices. Nothing really wrong with that and all the managers were aware of it. It's when you got the families that would eat "family style" with full plates of single food items at their table and then bring zip lock bags and sock away food to bring home, the anorexic women that would eat and eat, then hit the bathroom...then repeat, etc. When I worked as a busser early on, I always got a laugh when I saw people "eating" fried chicken...yet there were never any bones on their plates when I went to collect them. That stuff they wouldn't let fly cause it would make food cost skyrocket. There were lots of interesting things, not necessarily illegal or anything, but definitely entertaining none the less.
