I also really want to believe someone's not a scammer until all leads have been exhausted. I know how life can get in the way sometimes and not everyone's as responsive as I'd like (or they should be).
However, by this time without the item or a refund I think I would have listed a BBB on CL for $4000 with his phone number attached.
