So my haunted house wouldn’t coin up, start a game etc so I replaced the MPU with a rottendog.

Now I can coin it up and start a game but:

-only main playfield flippers work 100%
-upper playfield flippers: only right flipper works
-lower PF flippers don’t work at all
-kickout at the top of the playfield doesn’t kick out ball.

Any ideas? Thanks

Does the Rottendog board have any dipswitches? I know some of them do. They need to be set to your game or it won't work properly.

It does yes. I believe I mapped them all correctly. Thanks

Are you certain that the original issue was with the MPU?

Not 100% sure but the game wouldn’t even coin up or start before. Now it coins up and starts a game and main PF flippers work

What preventative maintenance has been done? Has the power supply been rebuild, and have you repinned any connectors?

Machine was completely rebuilt about 5 years ago including playfield overhaul by HSA. Rebuilt PS and all connectors Repinned.

Since all your problems seem to be coil related, you might have a driver board issue

Since there were already issues with starting a game prior to replacing the main board, I was thinking this is possibly due to relay switch issues (Q / T / U) under the main playfield. I had very similar issues and cleaned mine with some cut up business card strips, and made sure that everything was contacting correctly. This was on a nicely rebuilt machine that already had been adjusted, but those old machines have gremlins pop up.

Here is an old thread that might help:

Thanks for this. You may be right but I'm stuck. Updated and consolidated issues here:

I made a new thread on this but heres where I'm at:

So I've been having issues with my haunted house. Game was fully restored professionally about 4-5 years ago. Consolidating other threads of mine about this into one. Thanks for the ideas so far.

Original issue:
Wouldn't start a game, so I replaced the MPU. Then game would start but left flippers (on any PF) and no solenoids worked. Replaced driver board. Now game will coin up, start and seems everything works except for upper and lower LEFT flipper wont work. Main PF flippers all work. Cleaned contact points on the left cabinet flipper buttons.

Checked the fuses, all good EXCEPT for the ones at the QTU relays under the cab.

Current status:
Looking at the relays at QTU they seem wired up (nothing has gotten loose etc). Cleaned a few of the Q contacts (dont want to remove the whole block to clean all contacts unless thats likely the issue) but nothing changed.

Any ideas as to why ONLY the left upper PF and lower PF flippers dont work and are blowing a fuse at QTU?

Thanks
