Hello,

I have a Haunted House I purchased a few weeks ago.

It has PI-80 main boards and Rottendog Pop Bumper boards.

Pretty much everything worked fine except there had been extensive repairs to it over the years.

Unfortunately, almost all of the repairs had been done with crimp connectors rather than soldering.

I've been removing the crimp connectors and soldering things properly and I have apparently screwed something up.

I plugged the Lower Playfield back in after doing a dozen or so fixes, Turned the Power ON, Pressed the Start Button...

As soon as the Ball kicks into the chute and it's time to play, I get the following:

- Coil 5 Error 2
- Coil 6 Error 2

From the schematic, it looks like:

- Coil 5 = Upstairs Playfield
- Coil 6 = Lower Playfield
- Error 2 = "No current is flooding thru the coil, although it is energized" (Got from another post...Not sure if this is correct...Can I look up error codes somewhere?)

The game does not go any further and does not allow me to play.

I hope someone can help me out.

Thanks,
Scott

manuals for all pascal janin's boards:

no power is getting to the coils referenced so the fuse is blown or something else is amiss. If it worked prior to messing with it, you did something to cause it to stop working, double check your work. As long as someone didn't change wiring you can match all the colors up, be aware that gottlieb used 3 wire colors on one wire (3 colored stripes) vs. other manufacturer's use a 2 wire system.

Thanks Slochar...I checked all of the fuses and connections...A couple looked like they may be touching so I separated them. Plugged Upper and Lower playfields back in and..............Wait for it..........It Worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must have had something touching that should not have been...I appreciate your quick reply...Have a great day!

Found the knocker (i think) and there is a wire missing. i have soldered it back on played again. and 200k....

Coil 8 but now ERR = 1. i'm off to look at what ERR 1 means but any pointers will be gratefully received.

I suspect i may need to give that part a service or replace it.
