So and Haunted House found it's way home and I was just some preliminary checks to see what it will all need for a rebuild and I can't seem to find the pop bumper boards.

I think they (3 of them) are suppose to be located on the bottom of the playfield near the back box, but there are none there (nor is there any wiring). I attached a picture of the area. Yet they were working last I tried it. There isn't any on the basement playfield either.

Ideals??

Quoted from OzPaul:

Looks like previous owner(s) had problems with the original pop bumper boards and did some modifications
Haunted House uses four pop bumper boards.
Three here:

And one here:

If you want to go back to original, you will need to get a hold of a schematic and crimping tool.
Not sure where you can get replacement pop bumper boards in Canada, but K’s Arcade has a few versions of the same board. The Rottendog one works fine, I got the Homepin ones here in Australia.

If your basement up kicker is struggling to get the ball back up on the main playfield, you can bypass the basement ‘K’ relay (not always necessary) and add a fifth one.

Good luck, love my Haunted House, she deserved some love

Thank you for the reply - guess I will need to decide if I want to go back to original or not. First thing would be to go through the schematic and wiring harness and see what has been done and how easy to undo. I would assume it should be easy enough as it would be similar to replacing the k relay.

edit - BTW, I also second the scan.

Hi all - ok stupid question as I just noticed this yesterday while taking apart the machine for a restore. Seems the legs on the one I have are shorter in the front - is this "normal"?

Thanks

Quoted from radium:

Yup.
Rear - 31"
Front - 27"

Thank you - although I also just found the info on PBR's website as well. Funny how the manual says they are all the same. lol

Having a bit of an issue with the one I am working on. Referring to the driver board schematic (page 26), A3J6 says it connects to Sol 3, 4 and 7, but I can't find these listed any other place in the drawings. Which ones are these?

edit - Never mind, according to some pictures on the net, looks like there is no A3J6 connector, so I guess the drawing in the manual is just a generic one.

Ok, time for another stupid question:

I got the armor back from the powder coater yesterday and got most of it installed except for the bar at the top of the glass (above the upper orbit) - is there just a L shaped piece that goes here and is screwed into the wood? I don't seem to remember (nor have pictures nor does it show in the manual).

On all other machines I have done there is also a u-channel type piece that goes here as well and just wondering if it is still with the powder coater (or I have it someplace)?

Well it is almost completed. Still want to add a couple more LED to light up a couple of dark areas plus I still need to repair the auxiliary lamp board as the lighting does not flash.

It was a long road with replacing missing pop bumper boards (replaced with relay units posted earlier as I posted in this thread) - lots of repairs to the wiring harness as it looks like attempts were made sometime in the past to eliminate problems by making work around (some very creative). I also installed some "fire" LED in the lighted posts and in the lower windows on the back glass - gives it an nice effect. Painted the cabinet in a semi gloss black along with a semi gloss powder coating and I really like the effect since the gloss artwork really stands out which seems to add to the "mood".

Just wish there was some scans of good playfields around so I could repair the art (I suck most extreme at paint touch ups and at taking pictures) - I did think of sending it in, but it is not that bad to justify the cost.

Ok, so I seem to have a left over item from when I strip it down and did a major cleaning/etc.

Does anyone know where this item lives (wire guide)?

Upper playfield, right side.

OK thank you - I never would have guessed there.
