Quoted from OzPaul:

My beast has also been in storage for around a year. I missed playing her!

I finally found my new CPR web cover I also purchased around a year ago.
After 'slowly' peeling off the top side protective cover, most of the enamel web also came off

Anyone else had this problem with the CPR reproduction?

Yes seems to happen when peeling off the protective cover after a very long period, I had the same issue with my cpr centaur plastic set

I find its always better to remove protective films from stuff like this if its going to sit for an extended period of time. Seems to happen with a lot of plastics.

Good to know. Ill see if my secret passage has plastic on it.

Hi all - ok stupid question as I just noticed this yesterday while taking apart the machine for a restore. Seems the legs on the one I have are shorter in the front - is this "normal"?

Thanks

#505 6 years ago

Just joined the club! Very nice all around. It has an older clear coat and on the cellar it needs to be redone as it's cracking/worn through at ball drop but luckily no paint loss near as I can tell.

The Gotlieb legs should be 27 inches.

I'm cleaning out some old parts, and I have a lower playfield with the spiderweb plastic cover. Hit me up if you happen to need one.

I NEED THAT IN A BIG WAY !

Alas, several other pinsiders contacted me first. If something happens with those, I'll contact you, Steve.

Hello Everyone,

Just purchased a nice HH that has been sitting around for 10 years. It's dusty and dirty, but for the most part, playfield wear is minimal, only one part of the backglass bubbled, and the game needs to be shopped of course. Other anomalies are the displays. Player 1 will randomly go bright and 888888 or other artifacts appear, then it goes 'normal'. Other than that, I'm happy. I love this game!

Are these the right bulbs for the higher voltage bulbs in the basement? Does anyone else make them ?

OK, fellow HHers, I am wondering if anyone has replaced the metal faceplate above the shooter lane? Mine has multiple ball marks on it. Looking for a solution. I could probably send it to Cliffy and have him make me one but it looks like a simple piece and there may be a simpler solution. Any help is appreciated.

#522 6 years ago

Having a bit of an issue with the one I am working on. Referring to the driver board schematic (page 26), A3J6 says it connects to Sol 3, 4 and 7, but I can't find these listed any other place in the drawings. Which ones are these?

edit - Never mind, according to some pictures on the net, looks like there is no A3J6 connector, so I guess the drawing in the manual is just a generic one.

Ok, time for another stupid question:

I got the armor back from the powder coater yesterday and got most of it installed except for the bar at the top of the glass (above the upper orbit) - is there just a L shaped piece that goes here and is screwed into the wood? I don't seem to remember (nor have pictures nor does it show in the manual).

On all other machines I have done there is also a u-channel type piece that goes here as well and just wondering if it is still with the powder coater (or I have it someplace)?

#524 6 years ago

Well it is almost completed. Still want to add a couple more LED to light up a couple of dark areas plus I still need to repair the auxiliary lamp board as the lighting does not flash.

It was a long road with replacing missing pop bumper boards (replaced with relay units posted earlier as I posted in this thread) - lots of repairs to the wiring harness as it looks like attempts were made sometime in the past to eliminate problems by making work around (some very creative). I also installed some "fire" LED in the lighted posts and in the lower windows on the back glass - gives it an nice effect. Painted the cabinet in a semi gloss black along with a semi gloss powder coating and I really like the effect since the gloss artwork really stands out which seems to add to the "mood".

Just wish there was some scans of good playfields around so I could repair the art (I suck most extreme at paint touch ups and at taking pictures) - I did think of sending it in, but it is not that bad to justify the cost.

Anyone know what the part number for the upkicker tube bracket spring is, or seen them sold anywhere? Mine is pretty stretched out, and I contacted Pinball Resource about it (said they had it), but what they sent me in the order looks like a pop bumper spring....

I may be parting out one of my Haunted Houses. I haven't decided for sure yet, but I know I don't need three of them, and the cabinet on the one I'm thinking about parting out is out of square. Cosmetically, it's in great shape, but somehow or another, it's not right structurally, and I don't have the time to strip everything out of it to repair it. If and when I do part it out, the parts will be available here on Pinside. Just wanted to alert all y'all.

#529 5 years ago

My backglass has flaking. How is the one on your parts machine?

#530 5 years ago

Question for the group... I cleared the bottom playfield and put it all back together, seems to work fine but I seem to also have extra parts. I took before pics but can't really tell where it goes, any ideas? It's the metal plate and spring.

Ok, so I seem to have a left over item from when I strip it down and did a major cleaning/etc.

Does anyone know where this item lives (wire guide)?

Hi folks,

I'm performing some looooooong overdue maintenance on my Haunted House and noticed a few solenoids (namely, the slingshot solenoids) don't have the 3.3µF capacitor on the coil lug. Rummaging through my parts bin has resulted in a bunch of 4.7µF 100V caps but no 3.3µF little dudes. Maybe an order from Mouser is necessary but a 4.7µF cap should be fine in place of a 3.3µF cap, right?

I just wanna do this soon while I have the machine open because I *know* I will forget about this part.

Thoughts?

Does anybody have any photos of the HH cellar lit by cointaker green 313s?

Deciding if I want to go green or let the natural colors pop as designed.

#540 5 years ago

Anybody want to tell me what the metal wires over the plastics are for? I’ve seen machines without them. Do I need to put them back on when I put this monster back together?

Ball guides, help protect the plastics. I would put them back on.

EDIT: Protect and/or keep the ball from jumping on top of the plastic and rolling down to the next level undesirably.

Could someone post a picture of the boards in the backbox and how the harness is supposed to run? I'm working on a haunted house that was moved and want to make sure all the connections are in the right place and the harness is laying the way it should.

The game was somewhat working before moved but the displays were all out. Trying to get it back where it was where it would play blind and then trouble shoot the displays.

#546 5 years ago

Got the machine up and running. One plug was missed and sitting in the base of the machine. It is playable but I can tell that I'll probably have to pull the boards and clean all the connector edges of them.

The fuse for the displays was blown. Replaced it but one display had all segments lit brighter than the other displays and the fuse went again. Disconnected that display and installed another correct fuse and displays still working with the exception of one digit in the playfield display. The manual was missing so I don't have the schematics yet. Any good troubleshooting tips for the displays?

#547 5 years ago

Cleaned up a couple bad solder connections and cleaned the edge connectors with a pink eraser. All displays working now.

#548 5 years ago

Thanks you for the info! Appreciate it.

Check all your connectors, especially the ones in the rear of the cabinet
