Haunted House
Gottlieb, 1982Just picked up a HH and it worked 100% at seller's house but now when ball goes down into the cellar, it tries to shoot it back up but it won't come up and out. It tries, bounces around a bit...and then it stops and settles in the upkicker hole.
Is it just the position of the tube transmitting ball from cellar? It's kinda hard to line up just right....how do insure that the tube lines up correctly?

Make sure the VUK (Vertical UpKicker) tube is securely fastened to the underside of the playfield. It uses a common capacitor holder and the mounting tabs tend to get broken off.
There have been a few posts about this and what specific part fixes it.
Most likely it is the position of the tube. If it is like mine, there should be a spring attached to a metal clamp around the tube. Pull the tube in the direction away from the spring as to stretch the spring. It should kind of stop when you get to a point or at least get hard to pull. That is the sweet spot on mine. You may have to experiment to get it just right. I know it's a pain to lower and raise that PF up and down over again.
